Today, Telemedicine is celebrating two years since it first launched as a service. Originally, the service was due to launch in Autumn 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, its launch date was swiftly bought forward by five months to April.

The service has come such a long way since then, and now has a permanent team of seven nurses, a clinical service manager and one nurse consultant – with more nurses set to join! The team is also supported by two administrative staff and a care home engagement team.

In our first six months we received 580 calls, in our last six months we received 1,033 – that’s an increase of 78%!

As the service continues to grow, we hope to increase our care home call engagement even more and help deliver the right care to more of your residents, at the right time and in the right place.
